IPHRC attends the proceedings of the 37th HRC
As part of its regular activities to participate in the meetings of the relevant regional and international human rights mechanisms, a delegation of IPHRC consisting of Commission Members Amb. Mustafa Alaei, Mr. Alhoussein Thiam and Mr. Tahar Hamdi attended the 37th Session of the UN Human Rights Council from 12-16 March 2018.
IPHRC delegation took the opportunity to convey its views during the interactive dialogues with the Special Rapporteur on Myanmar and Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar; Special Rapporteur on Minorities as well as the debate on Racism and Racial Discrimination.

In addition to attending interactive debates of the Council on various human rights issues, IPHRC delegation utilized the opportunity to interact with relevant UN officials and representatives of the OIC and other Member States.
IPHRC delegation also took the opportunity to meet the representatives of the Sri Lankan Mission and some of the Myanmar and Kashmiri NGOs to discuss the ongoing situation in these areas. During the Session, Executive Director of IPHRC also briefed the OIC Ambassadorial Group on the ongoing work and activities of the Commission.
